Claims Technician – Dublin - 5644

Location: Dublin
Salary: €35,000-€40,000 DOE
Position: Full Time, Permanent

NexVentur is looking to hire a Claims Technician for our client who is one of the biggest family run insurance firms in the country.

The key focus of this role is to provide an excellent claims service for our clients, acting as their first port of call when they experience a loss.

As a Claims Technician, you will be responsible for effectively managing a broad portfolio of claims on client’s behalf across Motor, Property, Employer/Public Liability & Financial Lines. Whilst first notification claims handling is a key component of the role, you will also be actively involved in all stages of the claims process, from First Notification Of Loss (FNOL) right through to Final Settlement.

Role and responsibilities

  • Capture and record detailed FNOL’s, while providing guidance and support to our clients.
  • Provide a superior claims service; ensuring client needs are met in a consistent and timely fashion.
  • Assess cover and flag any indemnity issues at an early stage.
  • Liaise with relevant stakeholders involved in the claims process – insurers, loss adjusters, solicitors.
  • Follow up with clients on additional information required and insurance companies for timely client updates/settlement payments due.
  • Support with the preparation of documents for Court proceedings, attending where instructed.
  • Maintain and update internal claims management databases.
  • Assist with generating Management Information reports across the claims portfolio.
  • Contribute to continuous process improvement and best practice within the claims team.
  • Provide an exceptional customer service to clients and to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to maximize customer experience, utilizing technical experience to support knowledge transfer across the commercial and personal lines teams.
  • Maintain compliance with internal process & procedures and relevant regulatory codes.

Skills and experience

  • CIP qualification is required.
  • First Notification claims handling skills are essential, preferably obtained in a motor claims team.
  • Knowledge of the stages involved in the claim cycle, PIAB, Litigation etc. and the roles played by different stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High level of organisational and administration skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Demonstrated problem solver, ability to deal with client issues/problems in a polite and professional manner.
  • Proven track record of working in a fast paced claims environment
