Health & Safety Officer – Cork - 5690

NexVentur is hiring a Health and Safety Advisor for our client in the Civils and Utilities sector, to work on a 18 month long project in Mallow, Co. Cork.
Role and responsibilities
- Carrying out risk assessments, safety statements, all relevant paperwork, and considering how risks could be reduced.
- Implementing and updating Health & Safety plans and procedures for the group as required.
- Advising Managers on Health & Safety initiatives relevant to their department
- Improve the health and safety culture, through training and awareness.
- Actively manage any safety incidents to minimise company exposure.
- Manage accident/ incident investigations and ensure all accidents/incidents are reported in an appropriate manner.
- Lead and manage EHS inspections, surveys and audits.
Skills & experience
- Health and Safety degree or relevant certificates completed in Ireland.
- 2+ years of relevant experience, demonstrating a proven track record of improving operations and increasing health and safety awareness, preferably in the Civils sector.
- Ability to work with sub contractors and rectify any H&S issues on site
- Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with various departments and senior management within the business.
- Excellent timekeeping skills
Salary and benefits
- €55K-60K per annum
